My Experience With Contact Lenses...

Posted by chloechloechloe at 07:11
hey! Today I thought I'd share my experience with contact lenses.

When I was 11 I started wearing glasses, I absolutely hated it, hardly anybody wore glasses in my year and honestly I felt out casted a bit, so I decided to not wear them, a decision I now really regret. My eyes gradually got worse and two years down the line it got to the point where I had to wear them or I'd be walking around like a drunk person because everything was so blurry and I couldn't read anything unless it was right in front of me.

I started wearing my glasses all the time and I really didn't mind. Last year however my brother was getting married and I didn't really want to wear my glasses as I felt like they made me look less dressed up, so I thought why not wear contacts?

My first appointment was so nerve wracking for me, I over think everything and panic myself over the littlest of things. My hands were really shaky and I really struggled to get them in, luckily my optician was lovely and he didn't mind that it took me half an hour just to get one in. Finally after I got them in it was like I had brand new eyes I could see everything and it was a great feeling!

The optician has to make sure you can take them out and put them back in again, I did it but my eyes were feeling really sore after all the prodding I had done. Two hours later I was sat in the car on Asda car park, crying my eyes out because I was in so much pain and I couldn't get them out because my eyes had shrivelled up, gone all watery and were the same colour as blood. I honestly thought I was going blind I couldn't see at all! I knew if I was going to get them out I'd need to calm down. Panic over, I managed to get them out.

I NEVER WANTED TO WEAR CONTACTS AGAIN!

A couple of days later my mum persuaded me to try it out again, I'm so glad I did. I remembered how awesome it was to see everything without glasses! I still wear my glasses but it's great to think if I'm going to a party I don't have to wear them or if it's raining I don't have to keep wiping them (which is such a pain)

I probably wouldn't wear contacts if my eyes were only a little bit bad but mine are horrendous and it's either wear glasses or don't see anything at all! So if you're optician tells you to wear your glasses DO IT! There's nothing more I regret than not wearing my glasses at 11/12. hope you enjoyed reading about my experience with contacts! :)
